Horrifying Video Shows Amusement Park Ride Snap in Half

An amusement park ride in Saudi Arabia had a terrifying malfunction that has led to injuries, and the entire ordeal was caught on video.

The accident occurred at Green Mountain Park in Taif, which is located in Western Saudi Arabia, and saw the attraction break in half mid-ride.

According to the Saudi Arabian news site Okaz, via the Khaleej Times, at least 23 people were injured in the scary accident, and some of the injuries were considered serious.

Making the situation even scarier, the ride, named 360 Degrees, broke in half while it was in mid-air and the severed piece that was holding the passengers hit the still-attached arm of the ride on the way down.

Injured riders were rendered first aid before being rushed to the hospital. An investigation is underway, and park operations have been suspended.

Several local hospitals in the area declared a Code Yellow emergency in the wake of the accident and took in people who were injured in the incident.

“Ohhh! Hope they are all fine,” one person on social media said.

“Yikes! I hope everyone is alright,” another concerned commenter said.

“And my wife thinks I’m scared of such rides for no reason,” read one reply to the video.

“Can’t imagine how terrifying that must’ve been,” came another reply.

According to eyewitness reports, injuries occurred when the ride’s pole “recoiled at high speed, striking individuals on the opposite side.” Other passengers were injured after the ride fell to the ground.
