CNN Data Chief Hits Trump With Some ‘Terrible, Terrible, Terrible’ New Numbers
CNN data chief Harry Enten said President Donald Trump’s signature “big beautiful bill” is historically unpopular with the American public.
“They think it’s awful. They think it’s horrible,” he told the network’s Omar Jimenez on Sunday. “And, to quote our colleague Charles Barkley, ‘terrible, terrible, terrible.’”
Enten shared five recent polls that show the bill is underwater by between 19 and 29 points.
“The American public at this particular point hate, hate, hate the big, beautiful bill,” he said. “As far as they’re concerned, it’s not a big, beautiful bill, it’s a big, bad bill.”
He said those numbers have held steady over time.
“The more they learn about this bill, they hate it just as much,” Enten said, and showed a poll that found just 23% of Americans think it helps their families, while 49% said it hurts.
Enten said he tried to find an example of another bill that was this unpopular, but likely to pass.
He couldn’t.
“This one is in the history books, and for all of the wrong reasons as far as the American public is concerned,” he said.
