Cleaning woman who narrowly escaped death in Park Avenue building massacre pleaded with shooter Shane Tamura to spare her life

A cleaning woman who miraculously survived the massacre at a Park Avenue office building came face-to-face with the deranged killer, pleading for her life during the Monday evening nightmare.

Gun-toting maniac Shane Tamura opened fire anyway, as Sebije Nelovic ran for her life, bullets zipping around her until she found shelter in a nearby closet at the offices of Rudin Management as the shooting continued outside, she told The New York Times.

“God help me,” she recalled thinking. “God help me.”

She called her supervisor, frantically telling him, “The guy is on my floor!”

Not far away, company associate Julia Hyman was gunned down before Tamura took his own life – leaving a trail of four victims in his wake.

Hyman’s death was particularly devastating to Nelovic – the young staffer who often worked late always made it a point to seek her out before she left the office to say goodnight, regardless of the time.

After 27 years cleaning offices, Nelovic said she’ll never return to the tragic building.

“Now, no more,” she said. “I’m scared to go there. God help me.”
