Chris Brown appears in court following alleged bottle attack
R&B singer Chris Brown is appearing in court for a second plea hearing following an alleged bottle attack at a London nightclub.
The US musician last month pleaded not guilty to attempting to cause grievous bodily harm (GBH) with intent to Abraham Diaw at the Tape venue, a private members’ club in Hanover Square, Mayfair, on 19 February 2023.
The 36-year-old is due to enter his plea for a charge of assaulting Mr Diaw occasioning him actual bodily harm (ABH), a less serious charge than GBH, in a hearing at London’s Southwark Crown Court today.
The plea hearing is part of preparations for his trial which is due to take place in October.
Brown’s co-defendant, US national Omololu Akinlolu, 39, has also pleaded not guilty to attempting to cause grievous bodily harm.
Akinlolu, a rapper who goes by the name Hoody Baby, is also charged with assaulting Mr Diaw occasioning him actual bodily harm
Brown is also facing one count of having an offensive weapon – a bottle – in a public place.
